IKEA for Business has collaborated with the Pingtung County Government Long-Term Care Department to establish a care service center. This center provides accommodation facilities, day care centers, and home care services. Additionally, it houses a dementia education, research center and outpatient services, offering comprehensive support for diverse and age-friendly long-term care. Through these initiatives, the center aims to enhance the quality of life for both the elderly and their families.
In designing residential spaces, to prioritize safety for the elderly, the space utilizes vibrant and conspicuous colors to enhance color contrast, aligning with the principles of geriatric color psychology and functionally shaping the space. Furthermore, the layout of furniture and seating arrangements is carefully considered to ensure spaces are not overly crowded, shaping a multi-layered and engaging elderly-friendly environment.
IKEA for Business aims for this center to provide a safe, comfortable, humane, and warm living environment, allowing residents to feel a sense of "home."
