Swaying bamboo becomes timeless furniture

Did you know that bamboo is actually a grass? After growing for some years, it becomes as hard as wood and at the same time stronger and easier to bend than most types of wood. So, we headed out on a creative excursion to make the most out of its unique qualities rather than copying wood. VOXLÖV is the first result, a timeless table, and a chair just as flexible and soft as swaying bamboo – a comfortable place where good moments last longer.

Sustainable bamboo

Bamboo belongs to the grass family and is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. It absorbs more carbon dioxide than most tree species, while producing almost twice as much oxygen. Bamboo used for furniture, is harvested after 3-6 years when it has attained its strong wood character, and the roots are preserved to grow new plants. The areal productivity is very high and the root system protects slopes and riverbanks from erosion.
